- Arlington, Virginia has the highest income needed to leave the lower middle class at $152,652
- San Francisco and San Jose also have high caps on lower middle class incomes at around $151,000
- Jersey City, NJ has the closest cap at $101,279 where $100k would get you out of lower middle class
- 6 of the 15 cities are in California and 2 are in Virginia
- Existing home sales fell in December to the lowest rate since 2010 due to increasing mortgage rates pricing out buyers
