North Carolina Sheetz Stations Deploy K-9 Units for Added Security After String of Crimes

3 North Carolina Sheetz gas stations have deployed K-9 units for extra security after robberies and a fatal shooting last year.

The Sheetz locations using dogs are in Greensboro, at Wendover Ave, West Market St, and Spring Garden St.

The K-9 units are provided by a private Virginia company called American K-9 Interdiction.

Reactions from locals are mixed - some welcome the extra security, others question why dogs over human guards.

The measures follow a string of robberies, 2 carjackings, and a fatal shooting of an off-duty cop at Sheetz stations last year.
