Arlington, Carmel, and Philadelphia Suburb Rank as 2024's Best Places to Live in New Study

The Niche study ranks the best places to live in the U.S. for 2024 based on factors like cost of living, schools, crime rates, etc.

The top 3 places are Colonial Village neighborhood in Arlington, VA; the town of Carmel, Indiana; and Chesterbrook suburb of Philadelphia.

Three Tampa neighborhoods also make the top 20 Uptown at #4, Hyde Park-Spanishtown Creek at #6, and Harbour Island at #9.

The U.S. housing market is recovering from a 2-year slump triggered by rising mortgage rates and low inventory.

Mortgage rates decreased recently but are climbing again, limiting affordability as home prices remain high.
