BRICS Bloc to Expand - 5 New Members to Join in 2024, More Countries Eager to Join

A total of 45 countries had expressed interest to join BRICS before the 2022 summit.

BRICS invited 6 new countries to join the bloc this year - Saudi Arabia, UAE, Argentina, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia.

5 of the 6 invited countries are likely to accept and join BRICS in 2024, Argentina may reject.

39 other countries are still eager to join BRICS and could be inducted in the future.

The 2024 BRICS summit will be held in Kazan, Russia in August.

Developing countries want to reduce dependence on the US dollar and gain financial independence through BRICS.
