Viceroy's Carriage Now Carries India's President on Republic Day
- The presidential carriage used on Republic Day originally belonged to the Viceroy of India during British rule
- When colonial rule ended, India & Pakistan had a coin toss to decide who would get the carriage
- India's Colonel Thakur Govind Singh won the coin toss, securing the carriage for India
- The carriage was used to transport Presidents to ceremonies after independence
- Due to security threats, the carriage's use was discontinued for decades before returning in 2014
