• AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal claimed the Centre was withholding funds belonging to Punjab to stall development work by the AAP government.
• Kejriwal said rival parties asked the Centre to stop Punjab government's funds to prevent AAP from working and gaining popularity.
• This is the second complaint by an opposition leader of the Centre withholding state funds - Mamata Banerjee earlier alleged funds for West Bengal were stopped.
• Kejriwal slammed the Centre for withholding ₹5,500 crore of rural development funds for constructing roads in mandis.
• The AAP and BJP have been at loggerheads in Delhi and Punjab over several issues, making AAP the BJP's key rival in 2024 elections.
