UN Chief Convenes Advisory Board to Guide AI for Human Rights and Sustainability

The UN Secretary-General is convening a High-level Advisory Body on AI to provide recommendations on the international governance of AI aligned with human rights and sustainable development.

The Body will have up to 38 experts from government, private sector, and civil society, offering diverse perspectives on governing AI for the common good.

The Body will engage with existing initiatives and organizations to bridge perspectives across stakeholder groups and build consensus.

Contributors will support the Body's operations and Secretariat in the UN Secretary-General's Office of the Envoy on Technology.

Notable members include government ministers, academics, and representatives from companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Mozilla.
