Drake's AI-Generated Song Ineligible for Grammys, Says Recording Academy CEO

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. says the AI Drake song "Heart on My Sleeve" is not eligible for a Grammy award.

Mason Jr. previously said the song could be eligible since it was written by a human, but now clarifies the Academy's stance.

He says the song doesn't qualify because the vocals were not cleared by Drake's label or the artist, and it's not commercially available.

In June, the Academy outlined rules regarding the use of AI, saying songs with AI vocals/instrumentals may be considered if created by humans.

Mason Jr. says the Academy aims to support and represent human artists and creators, as ambiguity continues around AI music.
