Airbnb Bans All Indoor Security Cameras in Listings Worldwide

Airbnb is banning the use of all indoor security cameras in listings worldwide, regardless of purpose or location, starting April 30th.

Previously, hosts could use indoor cameras in common areas if disclosed, but they were banned in private spaces like bathrooms and bedrooms.

Airbnb says this policy update provides more clarity and is based on feedback from guests, hosts, and privacy experts.

Outdoor cameras and noise monitors are still allowed if properly disclosed, but can't monitor spaces with higher privacy expectations.

Airbnb says most listings don't have security cameras, so only a small subset will be impacted by this new indoor camera ban.
