Amazon Rolls Out Smart Carts Over Cashier-Less Tech At Some US Grocery Stores
- Amazon removing "Just Walk Out" cashier-less checkout from Fresh grocery stores in U.S.
- Instead rolling out "Dash Carts" - smart shopping carts with cameras to scan items
- Dash Carts track total purchase amount and help customers locate items
- Amazon Go stores and some UK Fresh stores will still use Just Walk Out technology
- Amazon will continue licensing cashier-less tech to other retailers and provide checkout options
