AMD's New Ryzen 7000 Laptop CPUs Have AI Engine, But Only for Windows For Now

AMD's new Ryzen 7000 laptop CPUs have an AI engine, but it currently only works on Windows.

The Ryzen AI engine accelerates machine learning tasks like audio, photo and video processing. It's more efficient than CPUs or GPUs.

AMD's AI engine supports popular frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. Intel already supports open-source AI on Linux.

Linux users want Ryzen AI support too. AMD is listening and may add Linux support depending on demand.

AMD still needs to finalize the Windows software for Ryzen AI first. Linux support may come later.
