AMD Launches New Ryzen Threadripper Pro and Threadripper CPUs with up to 96 Cores for Workstations

AMD has launched new 7000-series Ryzen Threadripper Pro and Threadripper CPUs for workstations and high-end desktops.

The chips have up to 96 cores and boost clocks up to 5.3GHz, offering big performance gains over Intel.

Threadripper Pro has more memory channels and PCIe lanes than standard Threadripper.

Both use new sTR5 socket compatible with TRX50 and WRX90 chipsets.

AMD claims large performance leads over Intel in CAD, simulation, and rendering applications.
