AMD Reportedly Developing AM5+ Socket and Granite Ridge CPUs for 2026 Launch
- AMD may be working on a new AM5+ socket and Granite Ridge CPUs for release in 2026 and beyond
- The MC Extractor tool recently added detection for AM5+ socket and 00B40Fxx CPUs, likely Granite Ridge
- AM5+ socket will likely be an enhanced version of AM5 with new features like different voltages, PCIe bifurcation, etc.
- AM5+ aims to reuse AM5 mechanical features to lower costs while allowing backward compatibility
- AMD stated support for AM5 through 2025+, so new Zen 5 chips this year will still use AM5 socket
