American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing at LAX After Mechanical Issue

An American Airlines Boeing 777 made an emergency landing at LAX airport on Wednesday evening due to a possible mechanical issue.

The plane landed safely around 845pm; all passengers and crew exited via the jet bridge.

This comes a week after a United Airlines flight had to divert to LAX after losing a tire during takeoff at SFO airport.

The United flight landed safely at LAX and was surrounded by emergency crews; no injuries were reported.

Boeing 777s have backup systems and are designed to land safely even with damaged tires.
