American Airlines Lets Passengers Bring Pet and Carry-On for $150 Fee
-
American Airlines now allows passengers to bring a pet in the cabin as well as a carry-on bag, instead of having to choose one or the other.
-
Passengers still have to pay a $150 pet fee to bring an animal in the cabin.
-
The rule change took effect on Thursday, March 29, 2024.
-
Travel blogger Gary Leff welcomed the change, having previously found it frustrating that his dog counted as his one carry-on item.
-
There are still many restrictions on bringing pets on planes, like caps on the total number of pets allowed per flight.
