BJP Reaches Out to TDP for Potential Alliance to Bolster Presence in South India
• Amit Shah called Chandrababu Naidu for a meeting a few weeks ago, hinting at a TDP-Janasena-BJP alliance in Andhra Pradesh.
• According to TDP's Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, it was Amit Shah and BJP who invited Naidu to the meeting.
• Chowdary said BJP wanted a consolidated ally in South India as they have no presence in Tamil Nadu, lost Karnataka to Congress, and the situation is bad in Telangana.
• He called the alliance proposal a move by NDA to enhance its presence in South India.
• Chowdary added that BJP doesn’t have a favorable image in AP due to the public opinion that the BJP government did not help AP.
