Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was injured after stones were hurled at his convoy during an election campaign rally in Vijayawada. He sustained injuries to his left eyebrow.

The stone was launched at high velocity, possibly using a catapult. The CM received first aid inside his bus and later resumed campaigning.

PM Modi and other political leaders like N Chandrababu Naidu and KT Rama Rao condemned the attack and wished the CM a speedy recovery.

YSRCP alleged the main opposition party TDP's role behind the attack, while TDP chief Naidu urged the Election Commission to impartially investigate the incident.

The attack happened while CM Reddy was on a statewide 21-day campaign ahead of Lok Sabha polls scheduled on May 13.
