Google removes Pixel battery health page after 3 months without replacement
-
Android 14 QPR1 introduced a new "Battery information" page showing manufacture date and cycle count for Pixel devices. This was removed in the Android 14 QPR2 update.
-
Google has confirmed the removal was intentional, not a bug. The page is no longer available in Android 14 QPR3 beta or Android 15 developer preview.
-
The battery page was appreciated by users for tracking battery health. Google has been working on a more detailed "Battery Health" page but it has not launched.
-
Google introduced battery diagnostics for Pixels starting with the Pixel 8 series to offer troubleshooting tips.
-
It's odd Google removed a working feature after having it live for 3 months. It should have remained available unless there were accuracy issues with the cycle count.
