Apple Gives Apps Control Over Reactions in iOS 17.4, Users Can Re-Enable
- Apple publicly confirmed iOS 17.4 lets video calling apps turn off Reactions by default
- Developers can control Reactions with a new API in iOS 17.4, iPadOS 17.4, and macOS 14.4
- For example, Zoom could use the API to disable Reactions in its app
- Reactions stay on by default in iOS 17.4 overall, still working in FaceTime
- Users can manually turn Reactions back on in Control Center if disabled by an app
