Apple Unveils New $79 Apple Pencil with USB-C Charging for Latest iPads

Apple announced a new 3rd generation Apple Pencil with USB-C charging that works with latest iPad models.

The change to USB-C charging comes after Apple already switched iPhones and other devices to USB-C.

Apple Pencil allows for note taking, sketching, and document markup on supported iPad models.

Priced at $79, the new Apple Pencil is $20 cheaper than the previous model.

Apple has sold an estimated 42 million Apple Pencils since launch in 2015, a small fraction of total iPad sales.
