Apple Launches iPhone Roadside Assistance via Satellite with AAA
-
Apple is launching Roadside Assistance via satellite on iPhone 15 in partnership with AAA. It allows users to text AAA for help when there's no cell signal.
-
It builds on Emergency SOS and Find My features introduced on iPhone 14 and Apple Watch. These use a satellite network from Globalstar.
-
Users can select from scenarios like "locked out," "no fuel," or "flat tire" to get dispatched roadside help based on GPS location.
-
For iPhone 15/14 buyers, it's free for 2 years with AAA membership or pay-per-use for non-members.
-
It currently only works in the U.S. but Apple is expanding satellite infrastructure globally.
