DOJ Sues Apple, Alleges Green Bubble Texts for Android Users Deliberately Cause Exclusion

The DOJ lawsuit claims Apple's "green bubble" texts for Android users cause "social stigma, exclusion and blame." This especially impacts groups like teenagers.

The "green bubble" issue makes Android-to-iPhone texts have limited functionality. Android users can't see typing indicators, have poor video quality, etc.

Apple has allegedly stifled rival apps that could have fixed the texting issues between platforms.

When asked to address the issue, Tim Cook replied "Buy your mom an iPhone" rather than fixing compatibility.

The DOJ says Apple's iPhone dominance relies partly on making communication with Android phones worse, not improving iPhones.
