Argentina's central bank raised interest rates to 133% from 118% due to worse than expected inflation data.

This is the 6th rate hike in 2023, with rates starting the year at 75%.

Analysts forecast inflation to end the year above 180%.

The peso has fallen past 1,000 per US dollar ahead of October elections to succeed President Alberto Fernández.
