Atari Releasing 500 Copies of Rare '80s Game 'Save Mary' for Classic 2600 Console

Atari is releasing a new physical cartridge for its classic 2600 console called Save Mary, originally developed in the 80s but never released.

Only 500 collector's edition cartridges are available for $60 each, featuring a silver box and manual.

Save Mary is a construction game where you build platforms to help a woman escape rising water in a canyon.

It was developed by Pac-Man creator Tod Frye and praised by Atari's founder for its non-violent gameplay.

The new cartridge joins other recently manufactured classic Atari games as part of the company's Atari XP line.
