Mortgage Rates See Welcome Dip, But Still Historically High

• Average 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell to 6.74%, lowest since early February

• 15-year fixed mortgage rates also declined to 6.16%

• Rates still high compared to last year due to sticky inflation

• Declines follow rises for most of February on strong economic reports

• Lower rates could bring more buyers and sellers into housing market later this spring
