Biden Administration Unveils National Zero-Emission Freight Corridor Strategy to Transition Trucking Industry to 100% Electric Vehicles by 2040

The Biden-Harris Administration released a National Zero-Emission Freight Corridor Strategy to guide deployment of zero-emission infrastructure for freight trucks from 2024-2040.

The strategy aims to meet growing demand, target public investment, focus utility/regulatory planning, align industry activity, and improve air quality.

The goal is at least 30% zero-emission medium/heavy-duty vehicle sales by 2030 and 100% by 2040.

The strategy prioritizes building out infrastructure in 4 phases establish priority hubs by 2027, connect hubs by 2030, expand corridor connections by 2035, achieve national network by 2040.

New EV freight corridor designations will help grow the EV charging network and support Biden's goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
