Bitcoin and Ethereum Hit New Highs, Flipping Major Assets Amid Upcoming Upgrades
• Bitcoin's price surpassed $71,000 for the first time, flipping silver's market capitalization. Bitcoin is now the 8th largest asset by market cap at $1.4 trillion.
• Bitcoin's recent price rally is partly driven by anticipation of the upcoming halving in about 35 days, which will reduce the mining reward from 6.25 BTC to 2.125 BTC.
• Ethereum reclaimed the $4,000 level after recently seeing it for the first time since 2021. Its market cap of $480 billion makes it bigger than the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust.
• Ethereum is nearing Walmart's market cap and could flip it soon. Its price has been helped by the upcoming Dencon upgrade in 2 days, which will make ETH transactions much faster and cheaper.
• Bitcoin has flipped many major companies and assets over the past few months like Tesla, Berkshire Hathaway and silver thanks to its meteoric price rise.
