BJP Leader Allegedly Calls Sikh Officer Khalistani, Sparking Outrage and Condemnation

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari allegedly called a Sikh police officer "Khalistani" during a confrontation over stopping BJP protesters, sparking outrage.

Mamata Banerjee, SGPC chief, and Congress chief Kharge condemned the "divisive politics" and "religious fanaticism" of the incident.

The police officer responded angrily on video to being called "Khalistani" over his turban, while BJP supporters shouted back.

BJP denied using the slur and accused the police of being partisan and mistreating Sikh protesters in the past under Mamata Banerjee.

The confrontation occurred when police stopped BJP workers visiting an area where a TMC leader is accused of land grabbing and sexual exploitation.
