Tanzania Sees Foreign Investment Double on Business-Friendly Reforms
• Tanzania's foreign direct investment (FDI) doubled from $524.4 million in Q3 2022 to $1.05 billion in Q3 2023
• The increase is attributed to growing investor confidence under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s business-friendly administration
• FDI accounted for 51% of new investments, while domestic investments declined 14%
• Nearly half of new FDI went into real estate, while domestic investors focused more on agriculture, infrastructure, and transportation
• Tanzania aims to increase FDI inflows to $15 billion by 2025 and $30 billion by 2030 as part of its growth push
