Eagle Produce Recalls Thousands of Cantaloupes Over Salmonella Contamination Fears in 19 States

Eagle Produce recalled over 6,500 cases of cantaloupes in 19 states due to potential salmonella contamination.
The recalled cantaloupes have UPC code 4050 and lot codes 797901, 797900 and 804918.
The contaminated fruit was distributed between Sept. 5 and Sept. 16 at supermarkets in multiple states.
Salmonella can cause serious infections, especially in young children, elderly, pregnant women and those with weak immune systems.
The FDA advises consumers not to eat the recalled cantaloupes and to dispose of them.
