Character.AI launches group chats where people and multiple AIs can converse together.

In the chat, users can add their friends and favorite AI companions. Allows collaboration between humans and AIs.

Use cases include having historical figures chat or roleplaying with genre-specific AIs.

The feature is currently only for paying subscribers on mobile to get feedback before expanding.

Competes with Snapchat and Meta which also let AIs join group chats, but Character.AI's is paid.
