The change is being made due to supply chain issues with sourcing enough antibiotic-free chicken
Chick-fil-A had switched to antibiotic-free chicken in 2014, meeting the goal across all locations in 2019
The new standard will still restrict antibiotics important for human use, but allows others if the animal gets sick
The policy change comes after Panera Bread also loosened its antibiotic-free standards for pork and turkey due to supply chain limitations
