Google Extends Chromebook Updates to 10 Years, Adds Adaptive Charging and Energy Saver

Chromebooks released from 2021 onwards will get 10 years of updates, up from 8 years previously.
Adaptive charging will keep Chromebooks at 80% charge to extend battery health, then fully charge before you disconnect.
An energy saver mode will reduce energy usage to increase battery life, turning on automatically at 20% charge.
Existing Chromebook owners will be able to extend updates to 10 years when they get their last automatic update.
Adaptive charging and the energy saver are coming to most Chromebooks in the next few months.
