Google May Enable ChromeOS Flex on Unsupported Chromebooks to Extend Device Lifespan

Google may be working on letting ChromeOS Flex be installed on unsupported Chromebooks.

A Chromium Gerrit commit revealed a script referring to a "Flexor" tag for installing ChromeOS Flex.

The commit points to adding a 10GB "13th partition" during installation.

This could greatly extend the life of older Chromebooks past their Auto Update Expiration date.

It's unclear when or if Google will announce ChromeOS Flex support for Chromebooks.
