Cities: Skylines 2 modding delayed, console version pushed to 2024
-
Official mod support and tools for Cities Skylines 2 will arrive after launch, not at release as expected. The modding features will launch alongside the game's Editor toolset leaving beta testing.
-
The Editor will initially allow custom maps, buildings, and code mods. It will later expand to enable custom vehicles, trees, bushes, and citizen models.
-
Mod sharing will be through Paradox's Paradox Mods platform, not Steam Workshop. Players can upload and download various mods and custom content.
-
Paradox admitted Cities Skylines 2 has not reached targeted performance benchmarks, but still plans to launch on PC next week.
-
The console version has been delayed to spring 2024 so more time can be spent optimizing performance before release.
