IEA: Renewables and EVs to Surge While Fossil Fuels Peak by 2030

By 2030, transportation and electricity will be much greener according to the International Energy Agency. 10x more electric vehicles on roads.

Renewables will make up half of global electricity. Solar alone will generate more than all of US power today.

For the first time, IEA predicts coal, oil, and gas demand will peak this decade.

Heat pumps will outsell gas boilers globally by end of decade. 1 in 5 cars sold this year are EVs, up from 1 in 25 in 2020.

Progress is happening but needs to speed up - countries must triple renewable energy and investments to meet climate goals.
