A Georgia family called 911 after a staffer for Energy Sec. Jennifer Granholm used a gas car to hog the only open EV charging station while Granholm was en route.
Granholm was on a 4-day road trip promoting green energy with a caravan of electric and gas vehicles.
Her team member used a gas car to reserve the charger, angering a waiting family. This practice is known as "ICEing."
The Columbia County Sheriff was called but could not help since ICEing is not illegal there.
Granholm's staff tried to smooth things over by redirecting cars, but the DOE did not comment on the incident.
