Delta Flights Offer Eclipse Chasers Brief Cosmic Adventure Despite Visibility Challenges

Delta organized special eclipse flights to maximize time passengers could view the total solar eclipse from 35,000 feet. The planes flew parallel to the eclipse path before crossing over.

Passengers received special eclipse viewing glasses, snacks, and swag bags to celebrate the rare cosmic event. Excitement was high leading up to and during the flight.

However, actually seeing the eclipse from the plane was challenging due to small windows, viewing angles, and the brief time the plane was in the eclipse totality shadow.

One passenger traveled from California just for the flight, immediately returning after landing. Despite some disappointment, most agreed it was a worthwhile adventure.
