An unnamed source says 700 out of every 1,000 Just Walk Out sales had to be reviewed manually in 2022, far short of Amazon's 50 out of 1,000 goal.

Amazon says the tech does not rely on live human monitoring from India, but reviewers validate a small portion of purchases to ensure high accuracy.

The company continues to improve Just Walk Out through generating synthetic shopping data and having workers annotate actual video footage to train algorithms.
