Donald Trump and Joe Biden have exchanged harsh criticism and insults, but Trump says he left Biden a "nice note" when leaving office in 2021.

Trump did not attend Biden's inauguration or directly refer to him in Trump's farewell address.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said she witnessed Biden reading the "lovely" letter on his first day, but he did not share details.
