Ontario Invests $1.6 Billion to Support Municipal Infrastructure for New Housing Development
• Ontario providing $1.6 billion more to municipalities for infrastructure to support new home construction • Funds intended to help address lack of roads and water lines as barriers to housing development • Ford has set province's housing target at 1.5 million new homes by 2031, but not currently on track • New funding includes $1 billion for municipal housing infrastructure and $625 million for water/wastewater • Also $1.2 billion over 3 years from Building Faster Fund for housing-related infrastructure
