Biden Administration Invests $6 Billion to Cut Emissions from Industry

The Biden administration announced $6 billion in funding for projects to cut emissions from industry, the largest U.S. investment to date.

The funding comes from the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

33 demonstration projects across 20+ states were selected, aiming to eliminate 14 million metric tons of pollution per year.

Funded projects include decarbonizing aluminum, steel, food production, cement, and other energy-intensive industries.

Methods like heat pumps, electric furnaces, carbon capture and storage, and zero-carbon operations will be demonstrated to set a "gold standard" for clean manufacturing.
