Kamiya Starts YouTube Channel After Leaving PlatinumGames, Reveals 1-Year Industry Hiatus

Hideki Kamiya has started a YouTube channel after leaving PlatinumGames in September where he talks about his future plans.

Kamiya reveals he can't work in the video game industry for 1 year likely due to a non-compete agreement with PlatinumGames.

He left PlatinumGames because he wanted to follow his beliefs as a game creator and choose the path he thinks is right.

Kamiya won't retire yet and will consider offers when he can work in games again, joking he'll accept anything over ¥100 million per year.

His YouTube channel will have non-gaming related content as he takes a break after 30 years working in the industry.
