Rocket Lab Launch Fails After Engine Ignition Problem

Rocket Lab's Electron rocket failed to reach orbit during a commercial launch from New Zealand, ending a streak of 20 consecutive successes.
The problem occurred about 2.5 minutes after liftoff when the upper stage engine failed to ignite as planned.
An onboard camera showed sparks around the engine as it was supposed to light, and the rocket's velocity started decreasing.
Without reaching orbital velocity, the upper stage and payload fell into the Pacific Ocean downrange from the launch site.
Rocket Lab said its next launch will be postponed as they investigate the cause of the failure.
