Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Teases 'Big Surprise' for Iconic Aerith Death Scene

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the next installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake series, set for release in February 2024.

Developers say Rebirth will have a "big surprise" planned for the iconic scene where Sephiroth kills Aerith.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi teased the surprise in an interview, but did not reveal any details about what it will entail.

Hamaguchi said Rebirth will feature more extensive exploration than the original Final Fantasy VII.
