Google Pixel 8 Charges Faster Than Pixel 7, But Still Lags Behind Top Phones

The Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro charge around 20 minutes faster than the Pixel 7 series, thanks to higher peak power levels.

The Pixel 8 hits 50% in 30 minutes and 75% in 55 minutes, while the 8 Pro takes 35 and 60 minutes respectively.

Faster charging is due to both higher peak power (up to 27W for Pixel 8, 30W for 8 Pro) and better power efficiency.

For fastest charging, use a 30W USB PPS compatible charger. The phones hit slightly higher temperatures of 38°C while charging.

Overall Google has improved Pixel 8 charging speeds compared to Pixel 7 series, but still lags behind the fastest charging phones.
