Rivian's smaller EVs caught testing - R2 SUV and R3 car aim for diverse buyers beyond trucks

Videos show Rivian's R2 SUV and R3 car driving on public roads, providing better visual size comparisons to other vehicles. The R3 looks quite small next to the R1 truck and Model Y.

The R2 is about the size of a Hyundai Tucson or Kia Soul, while the R3 seems comparable to a Golf GTI or Scion xB. The R3 could be up to 20 inches shorter than the Ioniq 5.

Seeing Rivian make smaller EVs beyond just trucks and SUVs shows they can appeal to diverse customers and make different products. This could reflect demand for smaller cars.

There's excitement for the R3, but Rivian has to be careful not to undermine the R2 SUV that's coming out sooner. The CEO has a plan to keep interest up.

The R2 and R3's wheel designs with silver squares or shapes spinning seem a bit distracting. More aerodynamic and smaller wheels would be better.
