Ford Recalls Nearly 43,000 Broncos and Escapes Over Engine Fire Risk

Ford is recalling nearly 43,000 Bronco and Escape SUVs over a fuel injector issue that can cause leaks and engine fires.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened a probe into the recall.

The recall impacts about 1% of 2022 and 2023 Broncos and Escapes, specifically those with 1.5L engines.

Owners can take vehicles to dealers for a free drain tube install and software update to mitigate issues.

NHTSA says there were no injuries reported connected to the recall as of March 11 when it began notifying dealers.
