Ford Pauses F-150 Lightning Shipments for Routine Quality Checks
- Ford stopped shipping F-150 Lightning electric pickups on February 9th and is holding them for quality inspections
- The shipment pause is to review quality issues as Ford transitions to 2024 model year vehicles
- This is a fairly routine part of the manufacturing process according to a Ford spokesperson
- Ford sells far more gas-powered and hybrid F-150s than the electric Lightning, about 750,000 vs 24,000 last year
- Dealers currently have Lightning trucks available for purchase until shipments resume
