FTX Hackers Move $120M in Stolen Crypto as SBF Trial Begins
-
Anonymous hackers linked to the FTX hack have recently moved $120M in stolen Ethereum, converting it to Bitcoin on a decentralized exchange.
-
The transactions occurred just as Sam Bankman-Fried's trial was beginning, around October 3rd.
-
In total, the FTX hack in November 2022 resulted in $477M being stolen.
-
Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic suggested three possibilities for who was behind the hack - an FTX inside job, North Korea's Lazarus Group, or Russia-linked criminal groups.
-
The identity of the FTX hacker remains unknown almost a year later.
